Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Delayed…

Honestly, I’m pretty bummed that Warner Bros. decided to push back Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince until July of 2009….but, I think looking back on it, it could’ve been expected.

Waiting three months before the movie’s release to put out a teaser trailer was a huge clue that something was up….the only other time that seems to happen is when studio’s don’t have faith in their products.

Maybe why that’s why I’m not nearly as disappointed as some fans are….I’m still eagerly anticipating the movie, especially after the awesome preview article in this week’s Entertainment Weekly !

Prison Break 2.18- “Wash”

Filed under: DVR, Fox, Prison Break, Recaps, Television, Tivo, TV — flutieman07 @ 8:16 pm

Overall, the episode was fairly straightforward…Apparently Michael and Linc didn’t think there was any possibility the guy they thought was the lawyer was a stand-in.

I thought it was cool they showed Kellerman talk to his sister, even though they were really comfortable despite having not spoken for 15 years….And how good is security at the airport when one of the 8 most wanted men in America is able to put on a pair of glasses and pass himself off as a therapist and leave the country?

The most annoying part of the episode, which they’re probably saving for some later revelation….Why couldn’t we hear what was on the tape?!  Don’t show them listening and their reactions and not let us hear what’s going on…..Just delaying the inevitable.

Anywho…I don’t see this show lasting much longer than a 13-episode season next year.  It’s clear they’re running out of ideas.  Still entertaining, but getting a little out there in terms of believability.  Guess we’ll see if C-Note lives next time around.

Rainn Wilson SNL Opening Monologue

Filed under: DVR, Funny, Office, Recaps, SNL, Television, The Office, TV — flutieman07 @ 12:55 pm

So I knew Rainn Wilson was hosting SNL last night, and I never watch the show because it’s undoubtedly gone downhill over the years, as I’ve mentioned before….but this opening monologue I found very funny, and they managed to pick the actors that really represented characters on the show.  It was great…..I wish they wouldn’t have spent so much time on that cold open though.  I was bored enough in the first 5 minutes to turn it off…luckily I didn’t.

Any other The Office fans get a kick out of it?   Video below….

Grey’s Anatomy 3.17 -“Some Kind of Miracle”

So this was the final chapter of the last three episodes.  It continued off the “afterlife” experience we saw at the end of the last episode.  I couldn’t really figure out what it symbolized overall, but by the end of it, when she was walking away, and her mom came toward her, I kind of saw the symoblism I suppose.

It’s really odd to see Denny walking around and being normal, because I think every time we saw him last season he was laying down or in a hospital bed.

There’s clearly something developing between the Jane Doe and Karev….we’ll see where that leads.  I was also glad Cristina decided to come back, though she did sober up awfully quickly.

It was a touching scene to see Derek waiting for Meredith to wake up….

Izzie was kind of annoying, and I thought she was acting kind of stupid toward George and especially Callie….she should have backed off of her, but no…just what this show needs….more drama.  I don’t think she thinks a lot before she speaks.

It’ll be interesting to see where this season ends up, as Addison preps to check-out of Seattle Grace….what?  Haven’t you heard the news?

The Office 3.17- “Cocktails”

Filed under: Battlestar Galactica, Television, The Office — flutieman07 @ 8:32 pm

All I can say is that The Office has consistently gotten better and better each week.  Tonight was especially great, and the ending just totally sets up a stellar last five episodes (or however many there are, because the finale is an hour and counts as two).

Highlights of the episode:

Michael reintroduced himself by saying he and Jan were lovers….priceless.

Jim and the CFO shot hoops because they both clearly didn’t like those parties.

The reference to Battlestar Galactica….now that I actually watch it, it’s that much funnier!

Jan telling Michael not to cry when talking about their relationship….lol.

So, how many of those guys did Karen really date?  I think the first one was real.  All the others were clearly jokes.   Just sets up a reason for Jim to leave her.

The rest of the office at the bar was a great set-up.  It was funny to watch that drinking game….Got some good screen time for Creed as usual…he’s always funny, even if it’s only a line at a time.

They really need to cut the Toby-Pam stuff….that’s just creepy to me.  I’m glad Pam gave that stuffed duck back.  Back off Toby!

The payoff…seeing Roy flip out and totally lose it, and Pam broke up with him!  I knew it wouldn’t last,  and honestly, I’m glad they turned it back so soon.  I was touched again that Pam was trying to tell Roy what happened and that it was over, but he freaked out, because he was drunk, before she finished.  I’m sensing she’ll realize Jim is a much better guy than Roy.

Those last words really set up what should be an exciting run to the season finale.

“I’m gonna kill Halpert….”

Now, how long to wait until the next episode?  ::sigh::

Heroes sighting on….CNN?!

Filed under: DVR, Heroes, News, Television — flutieman07 @ 4:17 pm

So the entire cast of Heroes is going to be on Larry King Live tomorrow….I just might have to consider watching it for that reason alone. Somehow I think I may also want to avoid it… There are most likely clips from Monday’s upcoming flashback episode that will be shown, and I’d really like to keep the surprises limited to when I watch the show on Monday night.

We’ll see though….I’m glad a show I watched from the beginning has finally made it to the big time. Anyone else planning or not planning on watching?

So apparently the interview has been delayed until April….bummer…All the promos tonight for next Monday look great!

On the Lot gets On the Schedule

Filed under: DVR, Fox, Movies, News, Steven Spielberg, Television — flutieman07 @ 9:55 am

So that Mark Burnett reality show with Steven Spielberg has finally gotten a release date. Looks like we have at least one main addition to the Tivo for summer TV.

The show will premiere May 16, which will probably end up being smack dab in the middle of alot of other finales. I didn’t see a time for the show…

Hopefully it’s not a crappy incarnation…..I have a feeling they’ll tie-in a movie web-site where you have to vote weekly or something. I think Road Rules on MTV this season has proven that formula doesn’t work.
